Breakfast & Berkhamsted

We all had a great time and few laughs on Monday and with variety of focal lengths some interesting and varied images.

In three hours we had to find something orange and purple, then three shop fronts which as punctuated with a chat at Walton Clothing

The London Street Photography Festival Student and International awards

The London Street Photography Festival Student and International awards are still open to entries and the deadline for submissions to the International award has been extended. Details have also been given of the exhibition venues for the winners. in-public photographers are involved in judging these awards and consider it a great opportunity to have your street work exhibited in a great Central London venue.

The International award which is open to all had a new submissions deadline of 6pm on the 30th April 2011.
Winners of the International Award will be informed in June and the first prize is £1,000 cash plus a trip to the festival launch in London (to a value of £1,500). Selected finalists will be exhibited at the German Gymnasium alongside the Vivian Maier exhibition.

‘Learn to use your DSLR camera at National Trust Ashridge Estate’



Learning to use your DSLR camera and walking around the beautiful National Trust woodland of Ashridge Estate is a great combination. You need some DSLR photography experience and you will learn new skills to help develop your photography.

You will have plenty of practical exercises as we walk around the estate.  You will be have an interest in photographing outdoors, using filters, macro lenses, wildlife, landscape and available light.  Please follow the links below or contact use for further information.

National Trust DSLR Photography Course One 24th June 2012 £125
DSLR photography course at the National Trust Ashridge Estate  £125
Learn new skills with your DSLR camera combined with walking around the beautiful National Trust woodland and beacon of the Ashridge Estate.

This course concentrates on learning to photograph in the landscape. You will then learn how to use filters both graduated Neutral Density filters (ND Grad) and full ND filters whilst exploring Ivinghoe Beacon, Pitstone Windmill and Ivinghoe Village.

In the afternoon we will walk about 3 miles through Ashridge woodland learning about filters and macro photography, giving you a chance to learn more about the woodland at Ashridge National Trust and practise your skills!

National Trust DSLR Photography Course Two 4th August 2012 £125
Learn to use your DSLR camera at Ashridge House and the beautiful National Trust woodland of Ashridge Estate. You need some basic DSLR photography skills and experience as you will learn allow you to create more professional looking images. Exploring the landscape and looking at details, using good compostion and macro photography using Kenko Extension Tubes or a macro lens if you have one.

We start at Ashridge House and proceed to walk around Golden Valley, a location used for filming Stardust in 2007.  He we can explore the valley, a Victorian Bridge and the woodland using stunning scenery covering 2 miles.

We will have lunch at the Bridgewater Arms, and the photograph the church and in the afternoon we will walk about 3 miles through Ashridge woodland giving you a chance to learn more about the woodland at Ashridge National Trust and practise your skills!
